MBBS (UNSW), MSc (Oxon), FRACS (Plast)

 

Dr Nicholas Haydon is a Specialist Reconstructive, Plastic and Hand Surgeon. Based in Sydney, he is a Visiting Medical Officer at St Vincent's Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital, and he travels to Tamworth on a regular basis to care for regional patients.


Dr Haydon’s areas of special interest include:

  • minor and major reconstructive procedures for the head, neck, upper limb, and lower limb
  • hand and peripheral nerve surgery
  • skin cancer surgery
  • general plastic surgery


After completing his medical degree at the University of New South Wales, Dr Haydon completed a Master of Science (Surgery) at the University of Oxford. His Fellowship training was undertaken in both Sydney & Canada.


He is actively involved in medical research and devotes time to teaching junior surgeons and medical students through his hospital roles. He also enjoys being involved in GP education activities.


Dr Haydon has a strong connection to rural New South Wales. He grew up on a property near the town of Murrurundi & is passionate about providing specialist medical services to patients living outside of urban centres.
